Who threw them for you? Did you host one for yourselves or did one of your parents have it for you?

We didn't want one, but FIL's are throwing one for us anyways. It's just a backyard barbeque. I am letting FMIL run the show because I could care less about it.....

we didnt have a party, but we had an engagement brunch. it was small, just the bridal party and family, but we did it ourselves.

Ha - there was a bit of drama surrounding mine.
We had it at FIL's house at FH's insistance. FILs were not overly happy about this and did not contribute a dime (real real real long story and still Fh and I are still upset about it). My parents were happy to host it at their house, but because FH insisted he wanted it at his parents house, they didnt push the issue. My parents paid for and made 80% of the food, and bought all of the champage for us, and made and paid for the centerpieces. FH and I paid for the normal alcohol, tent and 20% of the food.
(sorry, this kinda turned in to a rant)

Technically......my father hosted it....meaning he paid for it.
But FH and I (read mostly I) did all of the planning and arrangements. We had the party at my dad's country club, so it was very much just going to be 'his' thing anyway. But when I brought it up to him, he gave me the contact name and number and say 'You make the arrangements, just have them send me the bill.......' Of course, I wasn't going to complain
ETA: mine was also a brunch. About 50 people, immediate family, BP and spouses, and a few other very close extended family and friends.

My parents threw us ours....we did not want one though, but my mother is a party animal,, and loves throwing parties!

my sister and mom put it together with my help - just a small thing with mostly family and my bridesmaids. i didnt want a big thing :)

We are having an e-party in August of this year. FMIL is hosting it, but we planned it ourselves.
It is at a local restaurant we go to all the time. It will just be immediate family. We didn't want something over the top, just a small dinner to celebrate.
