I booked the Riu for April of 2011 for our Honeymoon because it was a bit less expensive and I looked on trip advisor and it was rated higher.

Depending on what you are looking for, i would not stay here! My boyfriend and i went this past year and absolutly hated it! The place was run down and the restaurants required reservations. You were only allowed to eat at each one once a week and that is if they did not get booked. When we arrived the restaurants were booked for almost all the nights we were staying and we had to eat at the buffet most of the nights with terrible food! The beach is gorgeous, that is about all. Oh and the unlimited drinks are always a plus! I would check out the other hotels in the area if you can!

im just trying to be honest...we booked there for a vacation and they overbooked our room so we had to stay at the hyaitt (which is beautiful...i would def stay there over the occidental) n then they gave us a free voucher for 5 nights at the occidental...it doesnt sound that bad right now..but when ur getting off a plane n especially on your honeymoon..its the last thing you want to hear...the buffets are good for breakfast n lunch...i was not a fan of the dinners at the resort but the local food and restraunts are amazing (especially the seafood...Aruba is an amazing island but i would just be a little careful with that hotel :)
