I wanted to give everyone a little advice before buying their dress, especially if you get one that zips or has buttons. I had a nightmare with my fittings, and ultimately had to give up my beautiful buttons for a corset back.
Please make sure your dress is ordered AT LEAST TWO SIZES LARGER than what you wear in street clothes.
When I ordered my dress, which had all of the beautiful buttons down the back, the lady said 'We are ordering you a Size 6.'....now, I am a size 4 in street clothes, so I thought nothing of it. I go back a few months later for fittings, and the back wouldn't zip up all of the way. So the seamstress said she could release it a bit. I go back for fitting number 2, it still doesn't zip so the seamstress again says she will fix and 'It will be PERFECT'...mind you, I am standing there crying. I go to fitting number 3, and this time they squeeze me into the dress, you can see marks where the dress is digging into me, I felt like i was going to faint and had to hold onto the wall. The owner of the store had the AUDACITY to say that this is how brides like to be in the dress, and made me feel awful for just wanting to breathe on my wedding day. So then at that point, I had to give up my beautiful buttons and she made a corset back for my dress. I will say the corset is more comfortable, but that is because my dress is really for someone a size 2.
I hope this helps some of you!

I am so confused ... and quite frankly freaking out! Where did you order your dress? I thought they always order according to your measurements no?

They should... but dress sizes run diff then street sizes... I'm a size 10 street and ordered a size 14 dress, I felt huge... I said that I knew I was going to lose weight and I wanted a 12, but the woman said its easier to take in a dress then to let one out.
However I also got a corset back so I think it will be a lil easier to get a fit.

Re: Girls who haven't bought their dress yet
They actually measure you for the size and go by a size chart, not by your street size. So if you actually looked at the chart yourself compared with your measurements, you should be fine. They should order the dress in the size that you have the largest measurement in, not that the most measurements fit. That really sucks that they made a mistake like that. When I ordered I actually had to sign something that said I agreed with the measurements taken from me and the size they chose. I did actually look at the size chart and somehow or another all my measurements were the size I got.

I think this very much depends on the designer of the dress. My dress, for example, was ordered in my street size, according to my measurements, and was perfect. No reason to freak!!
