You have to go to the Town Hall of the town you are getting married in. I think you are in the Town of Hempstead. The town hall should be able to give you more info.

Alicia- we were in the same boat. We went down to city hall in Manhattan and got it there. We got there around 8:15 or so and waited until they opened at 8:30 - it took about 10 minutes total - very quick! You don't need an appointment- just walk in. And if you are getting married in New York State, you can get your lisence anywhere in New York.

Alicia...you can go to Rockland...it just needs to be in NY state. That's where FH and I will go when the time comes....Good luck!

I'm not sure where you are in NJ, but try Orangeburg, or Nyack. Just check the hours befor eyou go, small town may not be opened as much as the NYC office.
Especially withthe holidays. Also , I think it has to beat least 48 hours before your wedding, but it might be 24.

We went today to ramapo Ny, only took us 25 minutes, was quick and easy...someone said you have to go to the town that you are getting married in, and thats not true..we just had to be in NY state is all. Thanks though for your help..we worked it out!!!
Oh, and it has to be 24 hours before and expires in 60 days!! FYI!!!
