a bar or club?
not that far from rockefeller are all the bars on 2nd ave...you can walk if the weather isn't too bad, or take a cab which is 5 minutes away...theres one place after another on 2nd ave in the 50's...places like sutton place, metro 53, local, turtle bay and a bunch more.

I'm looking for more of a lounge type place to chill out with a couple of close friends only.

Thanks! I just checked out Turtle Bay, really cool place. Do you know if it gets crowded at night?

If you're looking for a place very close to Rock Center, there's Brass Monkey (few blocks North), Johnny Utah's (a faux honkey tonk bar literally right off Rock Center on 51st), Morrell's Wine Bar (right on Rock Center), Moda (on 52nd b/t 6th and 7th)...

turtle bay gets very crowded! I haven't been in a while, like a couple of years, but when I did go, there was kind of a frat boy vibe to the place.

I agree - Turtle Bay and Sutton Place get ridiculously crowded. Plus the clientele are VERY young (still in or just out of college), which is totally fine, but my friends and I felt really out of place the last time we were there.

Try Whiskey Blue at the W Hotel. It's at 541 Lexington Ave. (b/w 49th & 50th St.) . Great scene, nice after work crown and the activity picks up nicely over the course of the evening.

I was thinking about going there with my bridal party after the RH. We have to be outta there by 11pm but FH said he doens't want to go home that early. I guess I have plenty of time till my wedding, I can check out all of these places mentioned. I prefer not to walk too far.

Are you having an after party? Your wedding is 1 week before mine, you can tell me all about it.
