Girls who speak Italian...
What does the first line of this poem mean? I want to put it next to my jordan almond basket. thanks!
Per l'amore e il dulce. . . . .
Five sugared almonds for each guest to eat
To remind us that life is both bitter and sweet

Not to be too nit-picky, and 'dulce' might be dialect -- which may be what you want (I'm not sure), but in Italian sweet is 'dolce'.
