Girls who used Velvet photo

when you got your proofs on CD, did they say 'proof' or were you able to use them and buy them on shutterfly???

i still didnt get my CD of proofs yet.. im very angry about that... but no they shouldnt say 'proof' on them.. you should be able to do whatever you want with them.

im happy with the pics... but in general im so NOT happy with the company... i feel they are playing games with me... i just got my paper proofs a week ago... (2 months after the wedding) then i found out after making a thread on here that most of the velvet brides got their CD right away! i was fuming because Velvet told me i wouldnt get it until i get my album.. which is ridiculous.. they are proofs!! so i have been calling.. and i am about to call again to see whats going on..

yea tell me about it... they really are playing games with me... their excuse was.. that the other brides got thier proofs so late so we gave them the CD right away.. its bull because i got my proofs 2 months later... so its irrelevant.

i would just keep up with them and make sure you get it with your other proofs.. its easy to put it on the disc.. i dont know why they make it out to be such a problem!

i just got my pics up on the website after over 3 weeks so that kind of was what started me off on this nervous path

i'll call them in a week or so and see what they say

I'm still waiting for my CD- I have a link to a website where I can view my proofs and I am VERY happy with the pictures we got.

My sister used them in 2005 and her paper proofs did not say proof on them so I'm pretty sure their CD proofs won't either- will let you know as soon as I get mine

i used velvet too, only i used them before the whole website thing came into play. i got my CD when i got my proofs, which was about 5 or 6 weeks after my wedding, so my experience with them is almost irrelevant. none of the paper proofs or proofs on CD said 'proof' though.

but, i will say that it seems fairly common for photographers to NOT give you the cd with proofs until you get your album. a few of my friends had that happen, but were given a website with all of their pics, with the 'proof' overlay. that way, you can't make your own album. it's entirely possible that Velvet is going this route with the business. i don't think it's cool to go that route in between when you book clients and when you provide your services (so then they change and give you the 'newer' business plan), but this may explain why they're doing what they're doing. with sites like mypublisher/picaboo, etc, i'm sure they are losing tons of business on making wedding albums and they are probably just trying to protect themselves. however, they should provide the services originally agreed upon. i hope you girls get your cds soon!!!!!

yeah, i did too. they're probably just working through the 'new' concept of the website. change always makes things get screwed up. i hope everything works out for you guys though!

well my hubby works for Shutterfly..depeding on the pics they may not print them...but if its a book usually it isnt an issue.

I printed TONS of my pictures (off the cd) through Snapfish, and there was no problem at all. I also printed some through Walgreens and Rite Aid, and had no problem either.
