I'm going! I'm going! No idea where we're staying though. Would like to stay on Kaanapali Beach in Maui.

We didnt go to Hawaii for our HM but weve been to Oahu a few times and stay at the Hilton Hawiian Village. I highly reccomend it! Its on Waikiki beach, it has really nice boutiques (coach, louis vuitton, etc.,) in the hotel/little village along with other jewlery and clothing stores, etc. There is a band that plays outside nightly and many other guests from different hotels come to the hilton at night to hang out b/c there always something going on. Its not a laid back hotel at all, so if thats what youre looking for in Oahu, this place prob. isnt for you. Its also walking distance from downtown Oahu and every Friday night theres a pretty polynesian dance fire show and a fireworks show. We love it there =)

My FH is from Hawaii. He lived there most of his life. We are getting married there. He has been to many of the islands and knows some of the better places to stay.

We are looking into the Westin Maui and the Pacific Beach Hotel in Oahu (it has a giant oceanarium in the middle of the hotel). To save money - check out the Entertainment Book - they have 50% off all the ResortQuest Hotels.

We were originally booked for 7 nights at the Hyatt in Maui..but are now staying at the Westin's timeshare...in the new North Tower for 7 nights and then are going to Kauai and staying at the Hyatt for 6 nights...my travel agent got us the 6th night free and breakfast!

hello there! 07er crashing....I just got back from Hawaii this past week......here's my thoughts:

Oahu- we stayed at the Westin Moana Surfrider (formerly Sheraton)......we LOVED it!!! I think it is a little more $$ than some of the others (like the Waikiki Outrigger next door), BUT it's the oldest hotel in Waikiki and IMO the most beautiful!! you literally walk through the lobby straight to the beach!! And they upgraded us from a city view to an ocean view room!! We stayed for 2 nights so that's what made me want to splurge in Oahu.
ETA- it's the oldest hotel, but was completely renovated! it's very modern.

Maui- we stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel at the recommendation of my cousin- apparently she stayed in one of the 'newer' wings and I was in one of the older ones (Kuaui wing)......if your not going to stay in your room a whole lot then I say go for it considering it probably is the best deal pricewise for this stretch of Kaanapali Beach.....but don't be like me- I booked a ocean view room, hoping they 'd upgrade us to an oceanfront room- just go and book the ocean front room and ask for the Maui or Lanai wing (I believe those are the wings that are most updated). The higher the floor the better- we were on the 6th floor (top). You get free breakfast w/ your stay and it's on the very best strip of Kaanapali Beach. If we ever go back to Maui, we'd either a) book KBH again and make SURE we get one of the upgraded rooms, or b) just stay at the Sheraton next door (amazing views of Black Rock!), or The Westin......or maybe even the Whaler (condo units) which was right next door to Whalers Village and the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Let me know if you have questions!! We paid a total of $4300 for 2 nights in Oahu & 5 nights in Maui- that's with airfare & insurance! I thought we did pretty good considering how expensive Hawaii can be......what we spent while we were there is another story......I don't even want to think about it!!
