Girls with Cathedral veils....

How much do they typically run?? I got a quote from my bridal salon of $350 for a cathedral veil with a clear beaded edge. Is this right?

I've always imagined you can make your own veil really nice for a fraction of the cost. It might be something to consider.

Judging from other similar quotes I've seen around these boards I would say that sounds about right.
I am getting a cathedral veil with beadwork and embroidery and it is double that price. It all comes down to that old saying you get what you pay for.
Mine is hand embroidered to specifically match my dress and is made of silk tulle. It will be an heirloom and I will wear it the entire night (it will be bustled into my dress). (I may even have it sewn around the basinet I use when/if I am blessed with children). This veil will NOT tear..we ran my ring down it..a comb..a heavily crusted brooch and it would just not snag.

But if it isn't that important to you then you can absolutely find one cheaper..decide what you feel comfortable spending and price around..I am sure you will get a bunch of responses that will say they found theirs super cheap.
good luck.

I wore a cathedral veil. I got it a Barrons, I think it was about 75 bucks (?) - definately less than 100. It was 1 tier, pencil edge, no beading, very plain, which was what I wanted. It was soft and looked beautiful. I took it off after the ceremony and pictures.

I think that if you want beading, silk tulle, etc. you are going to pay more. I am not planning to do anything with mine (it is hanging on the back of my closet door with my dress right now), so it wasn't worth it to me to spend more than I did.

The veil I tried on at the salon where I got my dress was priced at about 300 bucks, and looked about the same on me (it was also plain and pencil edge). My advice: if you want plain, got ot Barrons in tri-county. If you want fancy, get advice form someone who had a fancy veil on where to go, because I have no idea!!!!!

Check out EBay, that is where I bought my veil. I bought it for $40, including shipping from seller veiledandbejeweled.

Here is the description from the auction I won:
1 Tier Cathedral Length Veil
Cord Edge with Pearl and Crystal Accents
White. This is one of the most beautiful veils we've ever presented. A single layer of fine gauge tulle is generously scattered along the hemline with pearls and crystals, and trimmed in 1/8' satin cording. This veil measures 72' wide for a medium amount of fullness, and is a luxurious 120' long. A sturdy plastic comb is attached. You can wear in classic fashion under your bun, or wear closer to the top of your head. All elements of this veil are WHITE.

The crystals and pearls start at the top and go all down the side to the bottom.
Going to try and post pics from the auction, which do it NO justice.

Thanks!! I'll check out tri-county. I want something simple. I am not even set on having the beaded edge. I just thought it would be nice if it matched my beaded edged elbow lenbth veil. I dont want to soend $350 on a veil I'll only wear for the service and pics.
