My dress is somewhere between white and ivory .

Should I get a white or an ivory veil? will one make my dress look bad?

I would get a swatch of your dress just to make sure when you get your veil.. I believe what your dress is called diamond white? Correct me if I'm wrong...

I would try on both with the dress before deciding. And maybe the designer of your dress makes a matching veil.

Mel, my dress is ivory with a light gold lace overlay. I've been told to wait until the dress comes in, get a swatch of the overlay and then go look for viels. I wouldn't chance it.

Hmm I guess this makes buying a veil on Ebay difficult....

Being a cheap bride is so hard!

I know what you mean, I've bought my BM's jewlery, our card/envelope box, part of the wedding favors and other odd's and end's on E-Bay. This is one thing I can't risk.

They do have Diamond White veils! You might want to check out Patchogue Floral because they are going out of business. My friend just bought 2 veils, one white and one diamond white for $40 each! Its worth it to check it out!

I have the same problem though. My dress is labeled ivory, but it really doesnt look ivory and isnt as dark. I actually won a custom made veil at a bridal show, so im going to see what they suggest!

Good luck!

I bought a white dress but I'd see if you can try the veil on with the dress and see how it looks. Hopefully, that is an option for you.

Diamond white is actually more stark then regular white or brighter white.

There is something called soft white, that may be it.

I'm in the same situation..I am going to wait and then get a swatch to match. Alot of people told me to go up to Tri County, I'm on a budget too...

I'm probably going to order my veil from veilshop.com. You can request veil samples from them - they sent me a swatch of each color veil they make with a description. I'm going to visit my dress tomorrow to match it up!

hmmm i bought a maggie sottero in diamond white and have an off-whitish kind of veil. i think as long as neither one of your veils or dress is stark white, then it should be ok. do u have any pics?

My aunt calls my lace 'antique white' hehehe she's making my dress, and shes been a dress maker for 345 years... so antique white it is!
