How much bigger is the center stone than the baguettes? Does anyone know if there is an ideal or right proportion? I was asked this and do not know. Also, I would imagine since you can have different side stones (like I have two trapezoids) it would be different, right?

I have a round center stone with 2 tapered baguettes - one on each side. I don't know if there is a 'correct' size proportion, but I think the proportion of mine looks really good! My center is 2 carats and each baguette is .3 carats each....so 2.6 in total.

My center round diamond is 2.25 carots and my two round side diamonds equal out to be .125 each making my ring total to 2.5 carats.

my center stone is 1.25 carats...and the baguettes total another .25 carats
I have a 1.5 carat emerald cut with a quarter carat channel set baguette on each side. It looks pretty good to me. I don't have a pic of it on my hand but here is a pic from wher we bought it:
