FH 'cablllleeee guyyyy' wants to know what box have? Silver Sony Box or Black Scientific Atlantic Box?

If u have the Silver Sony box. The sony box must be on the channel u want to tape. Vcr on channel 3 set timer and that should work. Scientific Atlantic Box you can buy something called the VCR commander cost about 7.00 it plugs into the back of the box and u can program ure vcr to change the channel for you. EX. U want to tape something on ch. 4 at 8:00 and something on ch. 7 at 9:00. VCR commander should change the box for u! I hope this helps test it out first just to make sure!

one more tip....make sure you keep the cable box ON !! the TV can be off but the cable box must be on!!

I have a TV/VCR combo in my room and I CANNOT get it to tape off the cable box---they said it's not compatable (SP?!)

ok... wehave the blackbox... so i guess thats the video comander thing--

where do you get it....

i wonder what cablevision was thinking with the silver box that you ahve to leave it on the channel- what if you want to tape shows on 2 different channels when you go out... thats the frustration weve been dealing with
