Do you find it hard to convey your style? I feel like I search and search but nothing is perfect! It doesn't help that my mother is a bit condescending! Her style is more country and rustic. She was not happy with my paint colors!

do what YOU like! my problem is i like too many things! FH and I have been watching a lot of episodes of flip that house, which has helped us solidify what we want in a house when we get one.

well we are in an apartment and I had a hard time doing it up to fit us....it's a very modern place, but we are beach people......on a random trip to Fortunoff, I found a ton of that wrought Iron stuff that was beachy!!! Right above the TV I have a wrought Iron Candle thing that is in the shape of a sail boat, in the bathroom I have a huge iron fish thingy hanging and another one on the other wall...and I found crystal starfish that I have randomly around the apt......I got lucky I guess....
The key is to do what YOU love....not someone else.....they don't live there, you do!

FH and I still differ on things. He think we MUST have blinds in EVERY room! I don't agree since some rooms like the office and the guest rooms no one can see in! My problem ALWAYS is that I always think of what others think instead of what I think!!!!

FH and I had a all blown out argument over where excatly the place recessed lights in the livining room. We clash on just about EVERYTHING. We however had a serious sit down and just decided to listen to one another and come up with solutions. From the paint, to the type of wood floor to the furniture..

I find it to be a LOT of work! We go to tons of stores for one little thing and then need to go to ten others for another little thing.......in the end, I get what I am looking for and am so happy! People compliment our new kitchen and bathrooms and asked if we had a designer come in.....I said yeh we did, ME! lol

FH is easy going with this. We decided on our entertainment center and couch. Everything else in our house was left up to me... and I love it!

yesss!!!! and our poor contractor yells at us b/c he wants to finish the job already and we delay in getting him everything....we are too picky and have different tastes so we have to meet in between!!!!!
ex. he's been waiting for a bathtub since march and we just got it to him two weeks ago lol

we just moved in together in july and thankfully we have the same taste in the big items (furniture, etc) and the small items i had total say on.
we picked a netural color palette for the big items and added more colorful accents. we also keep the receipts for all of them, just incase.

funny you posted this... we signed our lease on Thursday.. and my parents wanted to buy our bedroom set for us... so we all went to Macy's and FH liked something totally different from my parents and part of it was b/c he didn't want them spending anything.. and then my parents wanted to get us one the most expensive sets there.. and FH is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyy picky with everything, and poor ol' me was stuck between the two..
anyway.. we finally picked the one FH liked and my parents feel like FH didn't care for their choice and stuff.. and they're still annoyed that we picked a poor choice.. and it's anything but poor just because they don't like it....
