Girls with Roseaca...

Girls with Roseaca...

I have been battling with my Roseaca for a few years now. I have been to the dermatagist and it's not working that great.

Any advice??? Just when it seems like it is getting better, then it becomes worse than before I have tried to control my diet (I ate a mango a few months ago and my face was so inflamed for weeks...I looked terrible)

I just don't want to look terrible on my wedding day...or anyother day for that matter.

Any help or a good dermatolgists name and # in Nassau would be so appreciated

I don't have it but my mom and my brother do..I guess you may already know this but alcohol. spicy food and smoking aggravate it.

I do to Dr. Krivo in Franklin Square..he is really good.

Thanks...I know about the food already, it stinks b/c most of what affects my face is what I really love to eat . I will look up the dermatologist.

I don't think I have Roseaca, but my cheeks get VERY RED!!!
My Dermo is GREAT, but in NYC.

I also have a bit of redness in my skin and I started a new skin regime... Neutrogena has put out new line of products called 'Visibly Even'. They contain soy and are super gentle on the skin. I absolutely love the foaming cleanser. Also, Johnson and Johnson put out a new moisturizer called 'Purpose' that helps fight redness in the skin. I use that also and LOVE it.

DHC (from Japan) also puts out a great line of skin care products. I use their olive oil to remove makeup before using a cleaner.

Good luck!

ALSO... ProActiv really helped me out.

(as you can tell, I'm a skin care junkie )

I went to Dr. Levine too when I worked in Mineola- she was very helpful.

I have it very mildly but my mom has it severely. the dermatologist recommended Cetaphil cleaner (so gentle!) and the new Aveeno moisturizer that calms redness. Also keep in mind that heat exacerbates rosacea as well- too hot showers are bad for the skin, but your doc can also prescribe an anitbiotic, b/c like acne it is also caused by a bacteria.

Good luck!

Dr. Skylar in Woodbury is excellent.

My dermo has told me to keep away from alcohol, caffeine, and spicy foods..yeah right, I love all three. But I have a pretty mild case. I have to say, I use the Good Skin skin line that's sold at Kohl's, the All-Calming products. I definitely see a difference. It's pretty cheap too.

First, I thought I responded to this already, maybe on another forum?

I have mild rosacea and can't stand it. Right now, I am using 3 different creams and one mask to keep pores clean (b/c I'm not allowed to exfoliate anymore!!!!! ). It's okay, but when I take pictures, you can see 2 red spots on my chin regardless of makeup. I'm told I'm the only one that notices this.

Anyway, I am seriously thinking of having laser surgery prior to the wedding to remove the lines from broken vessels. My DR (who is not in LI but in the city) charges $400 for 1 (yes ONE) 20-30 minute session. Since we're on the subject, if anyone knows someone cheaper (location not important) please tell me.

I use cetaphil cleanser, it is extremely mild. I use 2 different creams, one for the morning and one for night time. The creams definitely keep it under control.
The thing I am concerned about is getting my makeup done for my wedding. I have to make sure the make-up is hypo-allergenic so it's not too harsh for my face.
Recently, I got my make-up done for my friends wedding and for days later I had red blotches on my face. It was terrible!
I do not want that for my honeymoon.

I agree, I am concerned about the honeymoon too. Sun isn't good for roseaca either You can't win for losing with this crappy face of mine But I am getting married to a man who loves me with or without my roseaca

I use 2 different creams...I can't think of the names now but I can tell you them tonight once I am home. They work pretty well, but something has to work better. With all of the advances in modern science, something has to cure (ok...help) my roseaca better than this. FM me if you want the creams names

I am using 2 creams, but I can't remember the names. I can tell you later when I get home. They work pretty well, but with all the major advances in modern science, can't they find something that cures my roseaca??? FM me if you want the names of the creams
