OK, this is clearly the hardest choice for me so far in planning my wedding.
Then something weird happens, I go into an appointment today, view the work of the photographer, he gives me a quote. Great!
I am on the website of a DIFFERENT photographer who I have an appointment with tomorrow and he has some of the SAME pictures that I viewed today?
What's up with that??
So when I go to my appointment tomorrow, do I ask the photographer why I just viewed the pictures he has on his website at another studio yesterday?
Has this ever happened to anyone?

Re: Girls...What's up with these photographers?
Sounds very strange to me. Maybe they are some how affiliated with one another...

That shouldn't happen. I can see if there was a free lance photographer that is associated with different studios but you should be shown the work and meet the person that will be taking the pictures on your wedding day!
I would call them both on it. One of the studios is using old albums.

hmmmm.... sounds fishy to me.....I have never noticed that, but then again, I know my photographer so I didn't look through tons of books.

The only time I noticed that was with one photographer, their ad for the photojournalism is actually from a book about photojournalism, and none of the pictures were taken by any photographer affiliated with them. And, I had seen the same pictures in an ad for another photojournalist.
Very deceptive.

I recognized it because the bride was so beautiful and I looked at a book of her entire wedding with stunning pictures of her. Then when I got home there was a confirmation call from the other photographer for my appointment tomorrow so I went on the website to refresh my memory (because I have seen so many!) and there was the same beautiful bride showing up all over this guys website!!!

Re: Girls...What's up with these photographers?
It is sad but true...MANY big studios use freelance photographers. My friend got married in July and didn't know who her photographer was until that week. I got into a convo at the recepetion with the photographer (he was really nice) and he started telling me the studios he shoots for and I was amazed that so many of them call these freelancers up all the time. Especially with brides who don't request a certain photographer. So make sure you view the photographers artwork that you would have and have his/her name in your contract!

Ha! That's like the adds for halls in the wedding facilities and services magazine. This same beautiful couple was in at least three different adds! I thought it was hillarious, but I didn't go visit any of those halls because of it, it really turned me off.

Re: Girls...What's up with these photographers?
Oh goodness now I'm scared. I don't want to have to find a photographer now. We were going to go with a family friend who does it but now we aren't because he wants to much money and I heard he's slow, etc, etc.
But like the other girls said I would call the photographer on it and find out who brought who.

Re: Girls...What's up with these photographers?
Am I allowed to post that??
FM me becasue I don't want to 'bad mouth' anyone.
I am going to keep my appointment tomorrow, look at his pictures, get a quote and then call him on it and see what he has to say.
My suspicion is that the photographer that I am meeting with tomorrow may have done some freelance work for the studio I was at today??
All I know is that I loved the work and I would really like to find the photographer that did it!

Re: Girls...What's up with these photographers?
we saw the same thing at a couple of studios. we didn't let it fluster us because my guess is that most photogs are really just selling there service, and they then send the pictures off to some album lab where they put together the album. my guess is that you are seeing the pictures that are issued from the album company as part of there marketing material. two suggestions: flat out ask the photagrapy studio person you meet with 'were these pictures taken by you?' at least you can then know if they are honest. post your exact question on the vendor board. i would be curious to see what the actual answer is.
