while you're looking, check out temp agencies, esp in the city if you can. they pay good money for week-long or longer jobs and sometimes you can get something longer out of it....and if there's nothing to do but answer phones or something all day, you can at least surf the internet for job openings! good luck!!!

I'd look at temp agencies - It's going to be hard to find someplace that will hire you full time so close to your wedding, knowing that you'll need to take time off and whatnot.

I don't have the info on me, but you can google a couple of city temp agencies I used to work for -

Forrest Edwards
Personnel Express

They both always had work for me. Good luck!!!

Call Hilary Kessler at Winston Staffing-212-557-5000 ext. 232 or email her at [email protected]

She is very good and very helpful. She got me the job I am at now and I am sooo much happier than I was. She also works hard to get her clients a new position.

Good luck.

Definitely file for unemployment right away.
Also, Suffolk County Dept. of Labor has a One-Stop Employment Center in Hauppauge. There are job leads, faxes, computers, phone banks, etc. There are also counselors that can help with any questions on resumes, job searching, etc.
The number to call is 853-6600 - you would have to register and go on a tour and then you'd have full access to all services.
Good luck!
FM me if you have any questions!

Oh, wow, I'm sorry to hear that. However, I know that companies are always on the lookout for good office manager types, so hopefully it won't take you long to find something, but definitely go sign up for temping. And sign up for COBRA! Yes, it's expensive, but you never know, and your new husband's insurance may not be willing to pick you up for some months.

While you are looking, apply for unemployment immediately. Every little bit helps...

Definitely apply for unemployment. Every little bit helps and could help bridge the gap. Wish I had access to a job list for up there!
