After one of my cats had surgery, FH got him a get well card I love my animals, so that was really sweet to me.

he gave me a shot yesterday to calm my nerves when I most needed it actually, he does a lot of little things that I appreciate more than just one big thing...

He does so much for me, that it's hard to think of one situation...the one that does stick out most in my mind is when I was laid off after we had only been dating for about 5 months. It was a really hard time for me (and continues to be seeing how I can't stand my current job) and he has been really caring and supportive througout the whole ordeal.

He does a lot, so much that I have started to take him for granted. But, when we had only been dating a few weeks I ended up in hospital with suspected appendicitis and he stayed with me all night, got me a bag from home while I was there and then went to the pharmacy first thing the next morning for medication.
We were also dating only a couple of months when he spent a fortune to fly to Ireland with me for New Year's to meet my parents and friends. I know that's a big thing, but it impressed me a great deal!

I would say how he proposed.. it was so thoughtful and wonderful.
And our first Valentines' Day together- we had to spend it in Allentown, PA cause I was doing this freelance job for the Daily News.. Anyway- the hotel that we were staying in- that I had to stay at every Friday night for a month- he arranged with the hotel to have a dozen roses delivered and rose petals sprinkled througout the room.. I mean, this was like a Fairfield Inn or something-- so, it just made it special- although we were not where we wanted to be.

He dropped everything and left work when he learned my grandmother passed away. Didn't call into the office, didn't tidy up issues - just ran from the city. He did call in later ... but the fact that he just dropped everything because he knew I was a wreck was just too much!
Also, we just bought a bedroom rug and because we are living in an apartment (above his mother that is) everyone kept saying not to spend a lot of money and just buy a cheap rug. He knew I wanted something really nice - very thick and very soft on my toes since it's the only carpet in the apartment so he just said 'You Love it, Buy it - don't listen to everyone else' ... not words I hear often while saving for a wedding!

He has gotten up at the butt crack of dawn to come with me to sample sales.
When we moved in together last august, he consented to not one, but TWO cats. He was really not a pet person, but now they are his kids.

Wow that is hard because he does so many great things for me all the time.
Well yesterday for example I come home for lunch from work and come to find out I have a flat tire. So yesterday was my FH day off so I called him and he took me back to work then changed my flat tire and took the tire to get fixed and put the tire back on the car and then washed my car from top to bottom I never saw it so clean!
But he did all of that on his day off and he had plans to like go pay bills at the bank and stuff he is the best

He does so many things I couldn't even list them all but here's a sample- like leaving me romantic cards for no reason, going to get coffee on Sunday mornings so I can stay in bed, running to the store if I even slightly suggest I want something to eat, taking care of my single girlfriends almost as well as me, making sure everyone feels included at every social event we go to,- he even changed a diaper for a host who had a million things to do, flying to my parents for Christmas break to meet my family and friends, giving my sister frequent flyer miles so she could come visit me when I really missed her, treating my brother and sister-in-law to dinner when they were struggling to make ends meet, being a great listener when I complain about work for the millionth time, I could go on and on... But I guess that's why after 34 years I decided to get married

Seriously! I think my proposal was one of the sweetest I have heard. He worked so hard to make it a surprise and got me really good.
But the thing he did that made me know he was the one.....was...one time I was sitting in his car while he was working construction out on the road (he was a laborer). Well there was a little girl who screamed right outside my door and he looked over with this scared pale look on his face. I guess he thought it was me. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked over as if to run over and save me. Thats when I knew he was the one!!!

Well.. mine is kind of sweet.. My FH stays over on his days off he gets up early with me and drives me to the bus so i can get to work. He doesn't get to sleep much working 6 days a week, so that means a lot to me

Wow this is a hard question! I think the proposal was the sweetest. But then again he does nice things for me all the time. Just the other day he went out to get lunch when I wasn't home but he still came home with something for me. He bought me a cookie and it was gooooood!
ETA: He also doesn't come to bed late so he doesn't wake me up. Many a morning I find him asleep on the couch.

Hmm, I agree this is a hard one, since he does many things that are special to me..
The first year we dated, he gave me a small gift every month on our anniversary..
He cooks me breakfast every weekend..
He walks my dog.. which is a BIG deal, because I know he doesn't really want too, but he does it anyway :)
But the one that gets me each time.. when i am crazy busy with work, the phone ringing off the hook (one of my jobs is at night and i do it from home) he will come over, rub my shoulders and kiss my forehead

He is constantely showing me PDA's - I love this
When we ride in the car - he will hold my hand (when its safe)
FH will massage me when i have a really bad day. He knows that relaxes me
He is just a wonderful man all around

um, i think apart from the romantic stuff (notes, gifts, holding doors, etc) the sweetest thing is that he's read everything i've ever published (really really dry academic stuff) and reads my phd dissertation as i turn pages in (over 200 pages read now). He's very different from me and didnt know anything about my subject area (political theatre in Northern Ireland) before we got together, so it's meant a lot that he gets so enthusiastic about the work I do and really makes an effort to be a part of that conversation.
