Re: giving a late invite... advice please!

did you send it to the other co-workers, or did you hand it to them?

if you sent it, i agree that you could just pretend like you sent it to him too and i guess the post office lost it.

if you handed it to them in person, you could tell them that you feel really silly but his envelope was never printed (stupid mistake on your end) and you didn't realize it until now ... but you'd love for them to come. i think i'd just tell him on monday when i have the invitation with me.

we mailed it to everyone else.... except one person who I felt very comfortable explaining our situation too and handed her one this tuesday. i hate this!

You can either lie & say you never received the RSVP.

or

You can be honest with them & say that initally you where over the number of people that could fit in the room & you received more Nos the expected.

Thats what we did. Everyone appreciated our honesty & all of our late invites came.

then yeah, just ask them if they'll be attending or not since you have't gotten their RSVP back yet ... when they reply with confusion, just pretend like it got lost in the mail ... tell them you can hand him a 'fresh' one on monday if he'd like

We were honest about it also and we didn't have any problems.
