Giving an engagement gift to a friend..
Re: Giving an engagement gift to a friend..
I think I'd send her an actual present instead of a check. If it was an e-party I'd of course give $$ but since there's no party I think a gift might be more appropriate. Is she registered yet?

I think that would be incredibly thoughtful and sweet. Also, I am sure she will be thankful.

I would send a gift. If she's not registered yet, u could send her toasting flutes or a really nice picture frame.

They sell these photo albums in Fortunoffs...I think 30 dollars? There are 3 photo albums included. One for the engagement, shower, and wedding...or shower, wedding, honeymoon. I can't remember. They also sell a similar one at BBB for half the price in white (pink letters). It's nice to have to bring to work or someone's house instead of lugging your huge wedding album.

Buy her something off her registry.

If she's not registered, I don't think its odd at all - I would appreciate a check myself, we aren't going to have an engagement party, so I think its a nice gesture to a close friend.

You know what, the first engagement gift I got was from my boss, and it was a cake cutting set from lenox. I absolutley LOVED It, it was before I was registerd and everything. You can always give a gift receipt if she wants to return it...
