Re: giving away favors
I think it depends on what the favor is and what you want to do. In our case we're doing a little gift bag with Ecuadorian candies/chocolates which is one per couple and then we're doing a little two chocolate box of baccis one per person at each table setting.
For wine stoppers I think that one per couple is fine.

We're thinking of doing it on the place card table. I've seen it set up a few different ways. In our case we may be putting clear labels on the actual bags making them the 'place cards' (I still have to set one up and see what it looks like.)

Re: giving away favors
I did wine stoppers for our e-party favors. One per couple, and then one for the single ppl that came alone. When I did my seating chart I figured out how many I would need at each table based on this, and my BM at the hall set the favors on each table accordingly.

i think it depends on the favor. if its something edible then i would say one per person
ETA: saw you are doing wine stoppers, i think 1 per couple is fine! i just went to a wedding when they gave these out, they put down like , 5 at each table where there were 5 couples sitting, everyone pretty much knew it was 1 to take per couple.

We're doing one per couple and we'll have them set up on tables at the exit, so as people are leaving they can take one.

just out of curiosity would you put up a sign that says one per couple? i don't know if i would know it was one per couple if they were just on a table and the first couple of people leaving might think that is one pp and then at the end some will be left without

Nah, I'm not putting up a sign, I'm just kind of hoping people will know But I'm also going to get extras just in case people take more than one

Re: giving away favors
definitely just one per couple! when you do your seating chart just count the number of couples you have at each table and put that many on the table. people will figure it out. i think most people realize that if there isnt a favor specifically on their dish that it isn't for them alone.

I've seen it both ways. We're giving one per couple since it is a full size bottle of wine.

Re: giving away favors
it completely depends on the favor. We are personally during 1 per person because the favors we recently agreed on are reasonably priced. They are individual ice cream bowls that are the perfect size for a scoop of ice cream.
If you are doing something a little bigger than I would say 1 per couple/household.
