Giving away question

Giving away question

So my dad is in a wheel chair and cant walk/dance, etc. My son will be 12 by the time I get married and was thinking of having him walk me down the isle to my dad sitting at the end. Then my son will go up and be a groomsman at the alter and my dad acutally give me away. At the reception I was thinking of dancing with my brothers (3 yrs younger than me and another one 7 years younger, switch half way through). What do you think of this? Is it ok to have my son walk me down? My FH said I should have my brother do it. I'm looking at it as my son is also accepting my FH into his life as well (its not his father).
Also, any song recommendations for a dance with my brothers?

I absolutely love the idea of your son handing you off to your father to give you away. It's so meaningful and beautiful!

Not sure about the dance, though. Will your father be upset if he doesn't get to share that moment with you? If not, your two brother's is a lovely idea.

Why not have your brother push your father's wheelchair down the aisle so your father can give you away?

For the first dance, I like the idea of dancing with your son....Maybe you can give your father a kiss and have the DJ announce something like '[Name of FOB] has asked his grandson to dance with the bride in his place.'

Whatever you decide will be just fine...do what your heart tells you to do!

I am having my boys walk me down the aisle. I just felt that with it being my second marriage, it was more meaningful to have them do it instead of my dad. I know he was disappointed at first but he understands why I want to do it this way.
I am not sure about the first dance though. Will your dad be upset if you don't include him in some way?

Can't you 'Dance' with your dad in his wheelchair?

I thought about having my son wheel the chair down but it will get caught on my dress because its a ballgown and long train and I didnt want it to get ruined or riped.
My dad cant walk (he had a stroke and is paralized on the right side of his body) so he cant dance at all.

I understand he can't dance but why not push him around like you are danceing? I would talk to him about it and see what he would like.

Either your son walking you to your dad or pushing him down the aisle with you. Unless he'd be uncomfortable I'd twirl that wheelchair like no one ever saw and dance with your father to share that moment
