I need a bigger room at leonard's. The room which antonio booked us in is too small for the amount of guests I am set to have. Originally, I had a guest list of about 165, but now it is about 200. He says that the continental room holds 175 comfortably, that is nonsense! It is no bigger than the empire room downstairs, and that only holds 140 max!!! Antonio says that the only room left for 10/20/07 is the Penthouse room, and I have to guarantee 200 people!! What if only 190 come, I have to pay for 10 extra people!!
What are my options, 1) invite less people... 2) invite more people and hope less come... 3) get the bigger room and pay the price
Do you ladies think I can get something out of doing number 3? Like maybe an extra hour for the price of 200? Any Suggestion or things you think I should ask for? Thanks!!!

Re: Giving in???
Why not ask about more time added on to your reception, like a VH... see if they will throw in any desserts

They would probably throw in some stuff, but that is not guaranteed. To be honest with you, I would invite less people and try to fit into the room that hold 175 people. And if you are inviting 200 people, you have to take into account that around 15% will say no, which should put you around 170 people.

If you are under your minumim, you can negotiate things... ask & you shall receive. I got my RH to agree that if I was under the minimum that I could put 1/2 the money towards food upgrades so its not completely wasted. You can also get them to agree that you can count your vendors towards your minimum.

you are probably right. It just seems like my guest list keeps getting bigger and bigger! Im afraid my party will be cramped, and to be honest, he says that my current room will hold 175, but it really looks like it will max out at 150, any more than that and it will be cramped.
Why is nothing ever simple, lol!

I know you have your heart set on the bigger room.....so my vote is #3.....and try to get whatever you can added in!!! But see if you can get them to lower the minimum to 190 or something.....bring up your connections girl!!!
Check if kids/vendors can be part of your guarantee also.
The LIW table would be if you don't make your minimum....then you can invite some LIW girls!! Since you'll be paying for those seats anyway!! You'll already have 2 LIW brides there....me & Jen!!!!

I would go with the bigger room. I am sure if you talk to them they will throw something in or lower the min to 190.
