is it ok if i give them a number thats like 5 less than i think who are coming so i dont get screwed when people dont show up? and if they do show up i just pay it later?
If they count the seats in your seating arrangements they'll know your total.
we told them that our count was 201 BUT there were 5 people who may not end up making it (which was true because of injuries and illness). They told us to pay for 196 and we could true- up that day!
thats what we did! i think we told em 6 less and it worked out fine cuz 4 didnt show up and they didnt charge us for the other 2 anyways...
Tell them 5 less and then say you're waiting to hear from 5 people but will let them know early that morning. I think it'll be fine.

cate--- if your dealing with antonio its not an issue. We told him we had a few we were iffy about so we didnt count them and he said we could always add them later if we needed to. he was great about it.

We had extra people coming the day before, 2 extra vendors and 2 people not show up. Our hall didn't charge us any extra and told us not to worry about it..
