Re: Glasses
One of the first girls to get married on the 08 board wore her glasses. Davenjess is her screen name.
I have glasses too but they are so thick there is no way I'm wearing them -- I usually wear contacts anyway.

Re: Glasses
I wear glasses to see far away, but i can't stand them so i only wear them to drive, so i don't plan on wearing them for the wedding, good thing the aisle at fox hollow is short lol.

Re: Glasses
I hear you. I hate contacts too, although I did wear them.
We did pictures prior to the ceremony and I had my contacts in. I had my glasses with me just in case I wanted to switch, but then, I got so caught up in the day that I never bothered.

Re: Glasses
If you wear glasses on the regular, I dont think that you should feel that you shouldn't wear them for the wedding because it's you and you will still look beautiful. However, I have worn only contacts for many years & worked for an optomotrist for many years so I would say to give it a shot. When have you tried them last? They are so improved now and within hours, you shouldnt even feel that they are in.

Re: Glasses
I hate my glasses (for distance) and never wear them, but I wanted to be able to see my FH at the end of the aisle so I got contacts (which I also hate) a few weeks beforehand and wore them to get myself used to them before the wedding..

Re: Glasses
I would try a few different contact brands. Not every contact is going to be comfortable for you. You have to find the one that fits you best. If it's not comfortable for you, it's because you havent found the right ones yet. And it does take a week or so to get used to them. I say go to Pearl Vision and ask for a trial pair...if you don't like them, keep asking for different samples. Their job is to find the contact that will be the best fit for you. GL!

that's exactly what you should do. the first pair of contacts I had were uncomfortable and even after a week it constantly felt like there was something in my eye. I tried Acuvue Oasys and love them. It doesn't feel like there is anything in my eye. (I know, I sound like the commercials)

Re: Glasses
My FH has been wearing glasses since he was 10. He does wear contacts when he plays sports and swims, but he refuses to wear them any other time. So when I asked him he was going to wear contacts for the wedding he looked at me like I was nuts. He says he is not going to wear contacts to the wedding because no one will even know its him if he doesn't wear his glasses lol. I kind of want him to take pictures with them on and off. I love how he looks with and without his glasses but he is such a creature of habit. He insists on glasses only!

Re: Glasses
I'm nearsighted and need my glasses for watching tv and driving. I just got contacts and I've worn them a few times and I'm amazed at how fast I got used to them. At first I was frustrated at getting them in but, it's worth it. I only plan on wearing them on and off until the day and then on my wedding day. I want to be able to see whats going on everywhere!

If you always wear glasses then wear them for you wedding! You can take them off for some pics. I want to look like myself at my wedding!
Contacts get better with a little practice. Maybe give it a go again?

Re: Glasses
I wear glasses and decided to keep them on for the wedding and the pics. Everyone including me knows me with the glasses and without I'm someone else. I have half rimless and I think they looked ok. just in a couple pics there was some glare but if it's a pic you really like the photog can touch it up. maybe as a compromise look at rimless glasses? and look at my album for how glasses look. I think you'd be ok. With contacts, I had them for a year - - the older hard ones-- and always had trouble with dust going in. you don't need irritation on that day.
