I'm a newbie...and a diehard mets fan as well.... Glavine is the one who makes me more nervous to watch more than anyone else. Alison

Re: Glavine is the worst...
I'll tell you one thing.... if Kevin Brown continues to falter on the Yanks... I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Glavine for Brown trade.
Both guys need a change of scenery.

Re: Glavine is the worst...

We already have a stinky bullpen. Gaining Brown would improve what? Besides the change of scenery??? what scenery? they are both playing for New York.

Changing scenery... changing leagues. Just because they both pitch in NY doesn't mean a change of scenery won't help.
Sports history shows that occasionally a player will wear out his welcome with his team... so the team will trade a crappy player for another one just to take a chance.
Some examples:
Randy Myers for John Franco (both players wore out their welcome with their teams)
Alomar & Carter for McGriff & Fernandez (same thing)
Latrell Spreewell for Keith Van Horn (Basketball)

Still Glavine should retire.

Re: Glavine is the worst...
If Glavine pitches enough innings this season... guess what... he automatically gets next year's pay guaranteed.

Thankfully I don't think the Mets would ever agree to PICK UP MORE salary in a Brown trade either.
