Hey girls...looking to book the Glencove Mansion
The only issue is...the woman told me that whatever # rooms we reserve that is what we are responsible for? Has this happened to you too?
Most hotels tell you what you dont book...will just fall off one month before

The Inn at East Wind has the same policy-- it is awful!!

We can only block 10 rooms to start, have to pay for 50% of it up front and ultimately, we could call the day AFTER we book- a YEAR in advance and we'd technically still be responsible for the rooms if they dont sell or for the difference if they sell for a lower rate. (they would not really hold you to it- but technically that's what the policy says)

We only blocked the 10 rooms for our BP and parents at EW and we blocked rooms at local hotels for our wedding guests so that we dont have to worry about what gets booked when!

It really is terrible- but they get away with it!

I agree...however I love this place and well just guarantee the ones we know for sure, and the ones who wait until last min to tell us will be out of luck! O well!!!!! It is what it is!!! Thats my new motto!

Unfortunately, they have us right where they want us!!

They know that we want to stay and if we dont, someone else will book the rooms up!! So that is why we're only doing our BP- I know that none of them will cancel at the last minute! And I also know that I won't run out of rooms since I have the other hotels.

I've heard that EW is a nightmare when it comes to getting your deposit back too! ICK! PS- when we blocked our rooms we had the hotel put a note into the computer to add the tax to the discounted rate and split it in half so that if we had people sharing rooms one could put the deposit and one could pay the day of and they wouldnt have to exchange the difference and all that. Just a silly little thing- but I think in the end it will make their lives easier since they are spending a fortune to be a part of our day as it is!!
