Does anyone have any information on Glen Cove Mansion? Service? Price? Food? Ability to negotiate?

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
They wanted 200 min for a Saturday in Sept 2011 and were completely unwilling to bend and pretty nasty on the phone even about making an appointment, so I scrapped them. Mostly because of the gurantee, but I might have still gone to look if they hadn't been so nasty on the phone.

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
I was given a similar quote -- I believe it was $185/pp with a 200 person guarantee for a June 2011 evening wedding. I have about 120 OOT guests --- I was quoted at $160/night for 40+ rooms.
Based on the pictures online, the place looks beautiful and very classy. I never went to see it in person because the lady I spoke with did not seem willing to negotiate.

I thought they gave a flat rate of $25K. I would call and ask or email them. They sent me info a while back and the owner at Swan's Club confirmed $25k. Food is really good.

i was planning on looking there, but the woman on the phone was pretty rude so I crossed them off my list based upon that.

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
My fiance & I are 99% sure we're going to book our reception there. We're just a little weary because of the price. I'm waiting to find out what the difference will be for a Friday night reception (I was considering the 8th as well )
& I too have been trying to find some feedback on here. A lot of people are saying that they were rude over the phone - now that I think of it, they may be right. I called SOOOO many places, looking for price quotes over the phone..I don't remember how they were attitude-wise. All I have to say is, check it out in person anyway. I had crossed them off my list a few weeks ago because the price I was given over the phone was way over our budget. My fiance & I had an appt a few days ago to check out the Metropolitan - we happened to get to Glen Cove a little early & decided to check out the Mansion just for fun. They were really nice & they worked w/us on the pricing - & like I said we're most likely booking it! It's beautiful - I really wanted the mansion/old estate wedding, but it's hard to find a place like that on Long Island that doesn't charge a ridiculous site fee.

Definetly check out the Royalton, no site fee there!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
Check out The Woodlands also.
We checked out Glen Cove Mansion for our wedding I fell in love with it but the per person price was really high and I was having a winter wedding. They didn't really seem like they were willing to negotiate

Wow, & you got a good quote from The Woodlands?? We really love it there too, but there's no way we can afford a Saturday night (our 1st choice) there. For $5 less per person, we could do a Friday night, but we figured it would be more worth it to stick w/the Saturday night at Glen Cove Mansion. Lucky girl! I love The Woodlands!

Re: Glen Cove Mansion
We looked there and didn't like it. The ballroom setup was kind of sectioned off and it was kind of pricey. I also thought it had too much of a 'hotel' feel. I didn't like the fact that hotel guests could just walk in whenever they felt like it. I wanted something more private.
