I looked at Glen Cove Mansion and am concerned about the shape of the ballroom. I love everything else about it. Has anyone ever been to an event there where there was a live band? I have heard that the place that is designated for a band is awkward and the band has trouble interacting with guests. Any thoughts?

I went to a wedding there a couple of years ago. It was a little bit strange because the table we were at was in a little side room and we didn't feel like we had a lot of interaction with the rest of the wedding. However, it was fine with us because we had 3 or 4 tables in that little group which were the 'friends' tables and we had a blast!
It was a really fun wedding. There was a live band in the main part of the ballroom. It didn't seem to me like they had any problem interacting with the guests at the wedding at all.

I didn't pick it for us because of that reason. I loved how they had that upstairs bar area for afterwards though. So cool.

I also liked Glen Cove a lot, especially since people can stay there, but was concerned about the ballroom and the room that is sort of off to the side. I have heard great things about them though!
