Anyone have any infornmation on Glen Island Harbour Club? It is in New Rochelle.

I was deciding between the Glen Island Harbor Club and The Fountainhead (also in New Rochelle - they have the same owners and caterers). Glen Island is very nice and has great water views (it is on its own island). They have a beautiful chapel overlooking the water, which I loved. It is a very impressive place. The only thing we didn`t like was the room for the cocktail hour seemed small and narrow for my 250 guests and the ballroom was fine but not grand. They have 2 ballrooms but in order to use the ballroom with the water views you have to get married on the pier (even if the weather is bad, but there is a tent) I wanted to use the chapel but it is reserved for the larger ballroom, which I didn`t love. I have heard fabulous things about the food and the service. My tasting at The Fountainhead is next week for my June wedding (same food as Glen Island) so I will let you know. Fountainhead is very nice and very spacious. The cocktail hour room is very large surrounded in glass with a waterfall (package includes 6 stations each with a theme and a variety of items at each station - very plentiful). The ballroom is what convinced me to have it there - it is large, grand and very beautiful! If you have any questions feel free to ask. Both of them are very popular places and they are booked very far in advance for Saturday night weddings. I went in August of 2000 and wanted April or May of 2002 and May was completely booked and they only had 2 weekends in April left - we decided on June 8, 2002 when the weather is a little nicer. I can't believe it was once a year and 10 months away and now it is 3 1/2 months to go!!!

I never heard of Fountainhead, but i am going to look into it. Is it further than Glen Island?

i am having approx. 200 people
I`m getting married at the Glen Island next June. My reception will be in the ballroom with the windows. I am not having the ceremony there - the ceremony will be at my church on LI. I`m not sure where on LI you are but from Nassau county its approx. a 40 minute drive. I saw a lot of places on LI and in Queens but once I saw the Glen Island, I knew I had found my place. Hope this helps!

I am getting married at Glen island as well......I am having the room with the windows! Price depends on what you want.....the cake, raw seafood bar etc. is all extra. My opinion...it was the most elegant place for me...Glen Island Park is gorgeous!
The large reception room at the Fountain Head is beautiful but I did not like the location of the place..there are no grounds and it is next to a grocery store!

I agree. The Fountainhead was not located in a great area. I really like the window room in Glen Island Harbour! The outside area is great also. I am not sure yet if I am booking there.
