Glen Island Mini-Review
So I went to see the Glen Island Harbor Club the other day (I would have posted a review sooner, but I was on surgery call yesterday).
My RH and I LOVED it!!!! The BM showed us two different options for the ceremony/reception. It is basically two who separate buildings, so even if who weddings are going on at the same time, they would not interact at all. I’m not sold on a place that has two weddings at once, but it was a beautiful space so we are keeping it on the list! Plus, both options hold 200-250 comfortably, which is prefect for us.
Option #1
Ceremony would be held in the indoor chapel with the huge windows over looking the water. Now the chapel was BEAUTIFUL and could fit plenty of guests, but I still kinda wanted an outside ceremony.
CH would be held downstairs, it was a nice space…but a little narrow. There was an door so some people could go outside, where there were table and chairs, but I wasn’t overjoyed with the space.
The reception would be held in the ballroom. Although it was a very spacious area, there were no windows and I wasn’t a fan of it.
Option #2
Ceremony would be held outside on the patio, over looking the water under a tent. Not as beautiful as the chapel, but it was outside and you wouldn’t beat the view!!! There was a lot of potential to the area, so some flowers and decorations could make it pop!
CH would be held in a more spacious room, not as narrow as the first option. PLUS, the outdoor space wraps around the back of the RH and is HUGE! Directly next to the water and absolutely beautiful!
Reception would be held in a BEAUTIFUL room with floor to ceiling windows over looking the water. It is an oddly shaped room, but in a great way! There is no bad seat at all! Plus, there are doors to the outdoor area right in the room.
Venetian hour would then be held in the same space as the CH, so no need to interrupt dancing etc in the reception area.
We LOVED Option #2 and if we choose this RH, that is the option that we would pick.
The menu looks amazing, a lot of options and people will totally not leave hungry! The only downside is that they do tastings, AFTER you book. I’m not a fan of that idea.
We were quoted $165 a person, in addition to tax and tip. A little over our budget, but my RH loved it so much that he said we can splurge lol.
We still have about 15 more places to go look at!
