Hey girls...looking to book the Glencove Mansion The only issue is...the woman told me that whatever # rooms we reserve that is what we are responsible for? Has this happened to you too? Most hotels tell you what you dont book...will just fall off one month before

I ran into that issue with some of the hotels I talked with. Most of the ones I was looking at had some sort of guarantee policy, where we'd be responsible for a percentage of the rooms that werent booked by a certain date. Not sure about the Glen Cove Mansion though.

We found that too. We had to personally guarantee the rooms, and so we didn't do a block there. But I know that other girls who encountered that went back to the hall and said, too bad, I won't do that, and the hotels changed it. So maybe try that? We just weren't able or willing to do that. I'm having the same dilemma and trying to work it out. They told me I had to block a minimum of 10 rooms and I had to guarantee them with a credit card. Also, if I want a suite, they can't tell me if I get one till the month of the wedding plus there is a site fee for pictures. If we don't get a block, the suite and site fee will be Much higher... Also, not all rooms have refridgerators, so you have to request them.
I do love the pub there though.

Yes I work for a hospitality company; you have to guarantee a minimum amount of rooms in order to get the block.

It really depends on the hotel. Several hotels that I spoke with were like that and, for me, it was not an option. I chose to go with a hotel that didn't hold me financially responsible for any unsold rooms.
