For those of you that have one or are getting one, is the lock really needed or is it an extra feature that they charge you a fortune for. It seems to me that the gliders with locks go for an extra $100 and I'm just wondering if those of you that have one actually use the lock? Thanks.

I don't have a lock...
In fact, I didn't spend much on my glider at all and love it! I think I got it on sale at Kmart for like 80-90 dollars. I did see a similiar one at a baby store (a local one) for 300 dollars.

I didnt get a lock and it works just fine, no problem getting out, even with a sleeping baby.
