I went to the bridal expo last friday in NYC and I was asked to fill out a card to enter a contest. I got a phone call from Global lifestyles.com stating that I won either 2 free wedding bands, a 3 day 2 night hotel stay and some coupon passport thing or 40% off housewares. They said all I need to do is sit through a 90 minutes presentation and I do not have to buy anything. I am so sick of people trying to sell me things as if paying for a wedding isnt enough. Did anyone ever attend this presentation?? I dont think im going but im just curious

FH and I went - they try to sell you knives and cookware they look really cool but very expensive, we got a voucher for a 3 day trip but I havent looked into it yet.....

I read somewhere that in order to get your 'free gifts' you have to pay fees. Like the voucher you have i read that you have to pay $100. Thats not a gift lol

I 'won' that also. We got the booklet for the hotel stay and haven't activated the coupon/discount club yet. You don't have to buy anything, but the guy that did our presentation was at least entertaining.
The $100 for the hotel stay is just a deposit, I'm 99% sure you get it back as long as you use the hotel stay after you book it, which you have to request where you want to go 30 days before. The guy said that they did that, because people would reserve the hotels and then not use them. They want to make sure you use the free nights, which i believe you have 18 months to use.
And it might cost like $5 to activate the discount club, but you get $1000 worth of grocery coupons a year and other discounts that constantly change - restaurants, car rentals, flights, etc.

I got the call too about an hour ago. I did a quick google search and it looks like a scam....no one gives you a free vacation....except the sand castle LOL

I have received that phone call also from what I found when I researched it on line it seems to be a scam.
