Glove ettiquette

Glove ettiquette

With ten days to go - I have decided to wear gloves with my dress. My mom has a pair of opera length leather gloves that match my ivory dress perfectly. My concern is what do I do for the ring exchange - there is a small slit that buttons on the wrist and I could take my hand out of the slit during the ring exchange - and replace the glove after the exchange - or do I take the glove completely off and then put it on all over again. Because they are leather - It takes a little while to get them on - and I'm afraid I'll be nervous (I shake when I'm nervous)

ALso - Can I leave them on for the reception? Do I eat with them on? I've never worn gloves to an event - Any one know the rules?

I would not take off your gloves. If you really want to wear these then slip your wrist out. They now have gloves that open on just the ring finger. My friend used them and it looked great. But if not the ones you have would be fine, just use the button slit. Then see how you feel at the reception. I am taking mine off after the church. Enjoy your day =)

I wore gloves too, and hubby did not want to put the ring on my finger with the glove still on. I just took the glove off right before the exchanging of rings and gave it to my MOH.
I wore my gloves for pictures, and took them off right after the first dance. You shouldnt leave them on when eating.

I plan on wearing gloves only for the ceremony, and will have the ring finger slit so the ring will go on without taking the gloves off. I would practice doing this during your rehersal.
I don't think you are supposed to eat with gloves on, but not sure. I am taking mine off after the Church.
