Can anyone tell me which one to buy? I need to do alot of glueing for a project. It will be a huge job and I will need good supplies. The glue gun I have now doesn't let the stick move smoothly. I have to push it from the back as I press the lever. Hope that made sense. Thank you.

Re: Glue Guns
I bought the $2 one from Michaels and they have always worked well for me. Those are the ones that use the mini gles sticks. Maybe you can look at some that have the larger glue sticks. I have even used the 'professional' high temp one but I always burned myself!!

Re: Glue Guns
Lisa, does the glue flow easily in yours? I think mine was slightly more expensive than that, but I need to use both hands. With one I need to push the mini glue stick from behind with a wooden skewer and the other to pull the lever. That's not good.

Re: Glue Guns
I always insert another glue stick in the hole as the other one just drops below the opening (I hope that makes sense) and I never has a problem with the glue sticks moving. I think the 2nd glue stick helps move the fist one along!!

Re: Glue Guns
Does it move on its own, or do you have to push the second one to force the first through? Thanks for your patience. I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if I need a better one.

Re: Glue Guns
sometimes I have to push it.
Are you waiting for you glue gun to heat up all the way? Sometimes if its not completely heated (some glue oozing out) it will be difficult to use

I bought one from michales to.. its pink and it doesnt get hot/.. i have to insert the glue stick as soon as the other runs out, but i dont have to force it through the whole time.. i think mine was like 3 or 4 bucks.

Re: Glue Guns
Thank you. I'm starting to think that the cost doesn't really matter. I may just have to perfect my technique. Thank you both.

Your welcome..
I say start with the 4 dollar gun.. if it doesnt work then you only spent 4 bucks.. then you can upgrade if you want.

Re: Glue Guns
I LOVE my Craftman cordless glue gun. It is a larger size glue gun and doesn't drip like the little ones. Of course I use those super cheap ones sometimes, or if I need to use colored glue but when I am doing a real project I take my Craftman out.

Re: Glue Guns
Craftman is from Sears, right? Do they take different glue sticks? Can you buy them at craft stores or only Sears?
Cordless sounds amazing! How long does the charge last?

Re: Glue Guns
I have the Aleens glue gun and love it- it has different attachments.
I have also used the cheap ones and they are good too.
