Has anybody ever gotten one? My skin tone is so blotchy and I'm getting sun spots from all those years of baking in the sun when I was younger. Also, I have large pores. Ew. I heard glycolic peels can help. Also, microdermabrasion is supposed to be good but kind of expensive because you have to go for a few treatments. Any advice?

Re: Glycolic peel
I had a glycolic peel a few months before my wedding...i think it was $50 or so. I was a little concerned because my skin is very sensitive but my facialist used a mild one.
Honestly, I didnt see a bit of difference. The facialist said I should continue to increase the intensity until I find something that makes a difference without iritating my skin - but at $50 a pop, Im not doing that.
What I found to be great is using a night cream/gel with glycolic acid in it. You put it on your face at night for a week or so and that made a lot more of an impact than the peel.
PS: A friend had a peel and it totally burned her face..so make sure you go to someone you trust and has worked on your skin before with good results.

Re: Glycolic peel
Ouch - I don't want my face burned! I'd heard that too though. I really just want to get rid of this one darn sun spot. It's so visible. I have a bleaching cream, but it takes about 3 months to work, and then if you don't continue to use it, the spot comes back!

Re: Glycolic peel
I had a chemical peel at my dermatologist and paid $200 for it....While I did notice a big difference, he suggested I go once a month up until the wedding....
Yeah, like FH is really gonna go for the 'but I need to spend $200 a month for the next 9 months on chemical peels....' ahaha

Re: Glycolic peel
I actually just got a facial with a glycolic peel on Wednesday from Mario Badescu!!!
I think it was an extra $45 to do it. I think it is well worth it my face feels unbelievable!! It did tingle a little while it was on but other than that I was fine.
Mario Badescu is great I just made my apointment for another 6 weeks to have a facial done again. I don't think I will get the peel this time. What is good about this place is that they don't push there products on you, They will give you a free consultation and they will give you samples to try there products. I think that is the best feature They are not expensive at all it is 65 for a european facial and it lasts for an hour and 15 minutes!!!!

Re: Glycolic peel
That sounds great HillandRon but I live in Virginia There's a salon by me that does glycolic facials for $120. I think I might try it. If it doesn't help with the sun spots, I'll go to the dermatologist. Thanks!

Re: Glycolic peel
I have also gotten glycolic peels done, but the difference in my skin was not enough to justify the cost ($70 per session). Instead, I use Pond's Age Defying Complex every night. This has made a world of difference and the product has constantly been reviewed as one of the only effective OTC glycolic products on the market. (I think this has to do with its Ph balance or something). Anyway, it's a cheap product and it really works for me - people comment on the improvement of my skin all the time.

Re: Glycolic peel
I was not blessed with good skin so I think at some point I've tried it all. I have very sensitive skin and get light scaring from acne. While the glycolic peels did help I saw better results from the microdermabrasion. It just helped more to even out my skin tone. It is a little more on the pricey side but for me it was well worth it. I went every 2-3 weeks before the wedding for 3 sessions and that was enough, I was very pleased with the results.

Re: Glycolic peel
Just wanted to add that there's a microdermabrasion kit you can get to use at home. i'm not sure of the name but I think it's called Dermanew. I have used it a few times and it really made my skin soooo smooth. It exfoliates really well and it is good for acne scars.

Re: Glycolic peel
dkga1026, where do you get that at? Do they sell it at most drug stores? Do you know who makes it?
