GM Annoyance..

GM Annoyance..

FH's best man (brother) is not planning the bachelor party for a plethora of reasons (and he probably won't even go). So one of his GM's is planning it, but doesn't really know what to do. In turn, I have been making plans, getting prices, etc and passing it on to the GM who has been very receptive and welcoming of my help.
Anyway, I got a quote for a 10 passenger limo to drive 10 of them to AC and to pick them back up and take them home. It comes out to being $110 roundtrip per person (9 people to cover for 10 people), and includes all tolls, taxes, tips, etc. I know that I can maybe find it cheaper, but I passed the info on to GM. He said that was too much money, considering the hotel room and other expenses!!
Am I crazy?! FH wanted to do Vegas, but most of his friends wouldn;t be able to afford it. So my thought was, do AC, but go there in style. I priced rooms, and for two nights, it would be about $75-100 a person. That brings the total to $210 for hotel and transpo. I don't think for a bachelor party that that is unreasonable.
AM I THE UNREASONABLE ONE? Am I just wanting the best for Fh and being blind about the price?! Advice please.

NOT blind at all about the price-- the prices you found are SO reasonable!!!!!!

I wish I could say I spent that amount on the previous bachelorette parties I have been to, but I have definitely spent at least double!

aww, what a great woman your FH has! I personally think that is very reasonable but to others it may be too much KWIM? You never know someone's bank account or what other responsibilities they may have. And maybe the guys are thinking of the extra gambling money etc...

I know I wouldn't pay that much for EVERY bach party I was invited to but would no doubt do it for a close friend

Those prices are definitely reasonable! I guess some people just don't want to spend money. I found that with my bachelorette party also. I was a little upset because i purposely chose not to go away knowing it would be a lot of money, and then I still had people complain about cost or say they weren't going to come because of money.

Listen I'm on the same boat as you are. His Bm (his brother) is not doing crap abour anything. I also quoted prices for limos and hotels and ended up getting into a fight with him for getting involved. So i decided to clean my hands if he has his bachelor party great and if he dosen't better for me.

He thought I was trying to control everything, which I wasen't I was just trying to be nice and wanted him to have a good time but now I dont care.

I am so afraid of this happening!!!

FH says he wants ALL his friends to be invited (strange, right? or maybe that's just me again lol) and he wants it to be special. His BM is the same age as me (26) but has no job, does nothing. His other two GM's have jobs and were considering doing Vegas for him, but didn't think others would be able to afford plane tickets, etc. But $210?! Please. They aren't getting strippers - just maybe going to a club (ew ew ew ew).

FH knows I'm talking to his GM about this, because he wants it to be 'special' and he said he knows I'll help make it that way. Gee thanks.
I'm afraid that because his GM's are being difficult, FH is going to be so upset :( and blame me. He deserves this party so much! He had a near death experience this summer and is recovering nicely (knock on wood). He deserves to be able to surround himself with the guys and go out - bc he really doesn't anymore bc of his health! ARRGH.

Thanks for your opinions! Keep em coming

I went to a bachelorette party in AC 2 summers ago, and I spent about $400!! We stayed for 2 nights and went out to dinner and clubs both nights. Plus we all paid for the bride, she didn't pay for anything. I did all this and didn't complain to anyone about it.
