GM issue (again) - should I make a move?

GM issue (again) - should I make a move?

As some of you may have read, I posted shortly after my EP that one of my future GM told me to F*$k off at the end of the party due to a complete communication problem and ensuing petty BS.

In any case, the situation has not gotten any better and I don't no what to do anymore. No one is talking to each other at this point. My question is, should I e-mail this guy and try to initiate some communication and try to start to resolve this? Now he's turned it into that I never liked him or any of my FHs friends from the beginning. (I really do think I'm back in grade school at this point!) Yes, I'm just the devil!

What would you do in my place? Thanks in advance for your advice...

Paiz, I am so sorry to hear that this situation has not been resolved. You should not have to deal with this kind of treatment ever but especially not now.

Has your FH tried talking to him? Maybe you could ask your FH to ask him to dinner so that the two of you can straighten things out (with FH as a mediator).

I wish I could give you some better advise, I'm sure the rest of the girls will be able to help. I hope it all works out for you.

In my opinion, someone who tells you to F-off and is talking behind your back is not a friend to either you or your FH. I really dont think he has any place in your wedding. After all, the day is about you and your FH, and all he cares about is starting trouble.
What does your FH think about all of this?
Good luck with it, I know its got to be a really tough situation...please keep us advised.

I think you both have a big decision to make - is this person worth swallowing ALL OF YOUR PRIDE for. If so, then I say email him (or at least have your FH do it). And of course, make that your last effort. If not, then I say email him and let him know that you've tried, but this is too stressful for you right now, and you just can't bear to fight a losing battle - nor deserve to. I really hope everything works out for you...

Well Piaz, since you are the devil, I think you should tell your FH that you would like him to reconsider this GM's role on your wedding day. I think that the people in your BP should be special to both of you. My FH has one friend who does not believe in marriage (like it doesn't EXIST or somthing) and even though he is one of our close friends and a GM, I asked my FH to NOT ask him to be the best man (he hasn't picked one yet, which is making me totally insane). I don't want to look across the isle at a man standing up for my FH who really doesn't think marriage is a good idea to begin with! I haven't taken it any further because he is a good friend to us and we love him. But someone who has such little respect for you does not belong in your BP. See if maybe your FH can straighten this mess out. If he can't, I say kick the potty mouth GM to the curb!

I know this is super tough to do, but I think you should swallow your pride and be the bigger person...actually I just read in Glamour that forgiving someone makes you feel better in general AND about the situation.

the way I see it is...

this is your FH's friend...you may not like him (he may not like all of your friends), but you are willing to do whatever it takes for your FH to have his friend stand next to him...that way, if the friend doesn or says something stupid...he will look like the fool...

take the higher road (again I know its tough), you will come out on top!!

Re: GM issue (again) - UPDATE

Okay - so I actually wrote a general e-mail to most of the major players of the 'incident'. While I didn't really apologize for anything (I didn't do anything wrong!) I did apologize for the fact that the situation had gotten so out of control. Only one person (the BM) responded, but I knew everything was okay between us already.

So in other words, no response for the offending GM. If he doesn't respond, my FH says he's out of the wedding. I think he was really moved that I did this, and to his credit, he has been super supportive of me from the beginning of this incident.

I'll be sure to let you know how it all works out. Thanks for all your help with this!
