Godiva Chocolates
Hi folks! Although I am giving out Mikasa Wine Stoppers to the adults, I am giving out Godiva chocolates to the underage guests (can't use a wine stopper, now can they?) : )
I have my final meeting w/the Milleridge on Monday and they've asked me to bring the favors then (favors, place cards, toasting glasses, money - this is it!!!). Should I give them the chocolates on Monday or should I bring them to the wedding on Sat? Do they need to be stored in just a cool place or is cooling needed?
Just curious.......

Karen,
This time of year you don't really have to worry too much about storing the chocolates. They typically do not need to be refrigerated, you should instruct the caterer simply to store them in a cool place away from the heat and that should be fine to leave them until Saturday.
Best of luck, Stephanie

Thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated! : )
If you walk in the rear entrance (where the cosmetic store is), if you walk past the pretzel booth towards the escalator and turn left, there is a silk flower place that sells headpieces as well. I'm sure there are more place, but those were the most obvious that I saw.
Then, when you are done, if you go to the jewelry section upstairs, look for "Turkan Jewelers" along the left wall in the upper corner. They are honest, and don't try to rip you off (and you can really bargain with them).

Hi, Karen. I'm also getting married at the Milleridge. You say you're having you're final meeting. I'm just curious about meeting with them for final preparations. How many times did you need to go see them? How far in advance did you start meeting with them? Did you need to make an appointment with the bakery for the cake? I need to call them, but I'm hoping to get a heads up from someone who's been there. Thanks!
I have been to two weddings at Fox Hollow in the last 2 years. One was fantastic, great service great food, very comfortable. The other was cramped, under staffed and hot! They were both in the same room I believe the Garden Room(overlooks the garden?). The difference was that at the enjoyable wedding there were only 220 people attending. The extra 30 people at the last wedding really put a stress on the quality of the whole wedding. Maybe they were understaffed that day. At the first wedding, I think that there was 1 waiter for every table and that was great! The service was unbelievable! At the more crowded wedding I don't remember a waiter serving us at all. There were lines at the bar, food was not very hot.
If you are having 250 people I don't reccomend Fox Hollow, their Garden Room is the biggest that they have and my experience was not a great one.

3 meetings so far - the initial one when I first met them (Sept), the tasting & booking (Oct), and the cake/final menu meeting (2 weeks before our wedding date).
For our cake I just brought them a picture and told them what kind of cake & filling I wanted...if I had more questions or needed to see books, then I would have had to see the bakery people.
I did upgrade my centerpieces - but only upgraded my 1/2 doz to a full doz - I did that over the phone directly w/the florist. If I wanted something different, I would have had to meet with them.

I have also been dealing with Tiffany, and you're right, she is great. After we booked the place, we went back a couple of times just to see the room again, and she was more than willing to sit down with us and answer any further questions we had.
Thanks for the info about the meetings. You just reminded me that I should be on the lookout for pictures of cakes. My wedding is in June, so I have a little time, but I feel like if I don't organize all the little details, they will all come toppling down on me at once!
Thanks again, and good luck with your wedding. How exciting...only a few days left.

Cake photos
I had a hard time finding photos that I liked - I ended up finding a picture in an Elegant Bride magazine.....By far, that was the most difficult part of the process.
I think its a good idea to start looking now. Go to Borders/BN, get a cup of tea and check out the mags. If you see a few, buy the mags and bring them to tiffany. They have a color copier - she took my original to give to the baker and gave me a color copy for my records.
Good luck! : )
