GOG - Good Old Gold in LI - Anyone use them or check them out?

We still haven't checked out places for our bands...anyone us GOG? They were highly recommended on a few sites I checked out...

We did We ordered my engagement ring from Good Old Gold after looking at stones for 2 1/2 months all over NY and dealing with a few private jewelers. We got the best price and service at GOG and the independent appraisal really pleased my fiance.

I have a dvatche royal crown with a round solataire. Christine even sent me photos since I was having trouble taking a picture of the ring on my own to send to my mom.

We likely will order the bands from them too since my ring is set such that nothing will sit flush against it.

FH also used them to purhase my engagement ring. They offer extensive testing and they have some of the best selection of stones I've seen. We plan to use them to purchase our wedding bands. He carries a few designer lines including precision set. here's a pic of my ring, only I have a princess cut diamond

Thanks I love it!!! I even sometimes use the hearts & arrows viewer that came with the ring but since it's set I can't see the hearts anymore

FI is ALWAYS looking at other bride's rings now since he feels like he took a semester long course in diamond cuts and grading.

One jeweler (used by a good friend for about 15 years now) did not even know what a hearts & arrows viewer was and he called me days later to ask me how to find the hearts Needless to say, we did not ever call him again.

During the ring shopping process, we learned a lot of techniques used to make a flawed stones look better including putting a blue dot at the bottom of a setting to make the diamond look whiter.

I am totally confident in GOG.

GOG is INCREDIBLE!! FH purchased my engagement ring through them, and I receive compliments on my ring every single day. They have amazing customer service. They take the time to educate you so that you can make an informed decision, they are always friendly and helpful (no matter how many times you call with questions or change your mind on stones or settings), they have an unbelieveable selection of jewelry and loose diamonds, and their prices are really quite good. We are definitely getting our wedding bands from them because our e-ring experience was just so wonderful.

Definitely go check them out - you will not be sorry!!

Wow, yeah Ron must have changed it just now.

I went with FI to get an MRI recently and the receptionist and staff kept calling me 'Mrs.' although FI clearly said his fiance booked the appointment. I really did get a kick out of it But it's aka Mrs. T since I am not changing my name legally.

It's best to make an appointment, that way you are guaranteed to have someone's undivided attention.

GOG is relatively popular; I remember when we went in for our Sat. afternoon appointment, the place was packed. If you tried to go without an appointment, you might have to wait quite a while until someone was able to see you.

Just so you know, they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

My FH got my setting from there. I bent one of the prongs a couple of months ago so we went to get it fixed...they recognized him and everything. They fixed the ring that second and cleaned it too!
