Going for my 1st consultation for EXTENTIONS. What should I ask????
I've come to the conclusion that my hair (shoulder length) is just not long enough for any of the styles I like for the wedding or honeymoon! SO, I'm gonna go for my consultation with my hair girl tomorrow. What should I ask?
Anyone have any experience with extensions? Thanks. I just don't want to regret it afterwards.

I got clip in extensions from wigs.com & my person put them in. I have not heard many good things about the 'permanent' extensions.

WHy? What's bad about the permanent ones? And what are permanent extensions? How are they kept in?

They usually bond (typically with glue) or braid (tiny braids) the permanent extensions in. I have heard they are itchy, that they damage your natural hair, and are a lot of work to keep up. All that said, I'd still try them.

Yes, the permanent one can damage your natural hair.
I am getting temporary one (clip on) for the wedding.

Are you sure your hair is too short. My sister had an updo for her prom last year, her hair was really short, shorter then her shoulders and you wouldn't believe how amazing it looked... Sorry i don't know anything about extensions...

My MOH had above shoulder very thin hair for her wedding. She had a very full updo. They just added a few short extensions into her hair to make it really nice and full. It looked to natural you would have no idea.

Sweets - Mia does temporary extensions...I would recm'd those! She puts wig clips in, and you're good to go, and can take them out.
When getting permanent extensions, it could cost $1,000++++ and they bond the extension to your real hair which does damaage, and causes your hair to break.

Permanent extensions are bonded(glued in), or sewn in.
If it were bonded in it would be directly on your scalp w/ a glue that is made to w/ hold but also easily removed by water, or oil.
If it were sewn in. It would be your hair braided into a small cornrow that you couldn't see, but thick enough to get the thread through it.
both forms will make your hair thicker but if it were me I'd go for the sewn in b/c its for a lasting effect, and less damaging to the hair I had it done to my hair plenty of times both ways. It's not costly at all for my hair, no more than $15, a track(a row of hair) but everyones texture of hair, and stylist is different
Good Luck ETA: I have three tracks in my hair in this pic (sewn in)

UPDATED: Going for my 1st consultation for EXTENTIONS. What should I ask????
So, I ended up getting my extenstions after all! And I couldn't be happier! They hurt like hell, & they will for about 3 or 4 days, but it looks sick! (Which is a good thing in my vocabulary!)
You can see the difference in my hair against the extensions in the AFTER picture, but it won't be that noticable once I wash it. My hair stylist said that the extensions are human hair & they are treated with a solution to make them more pliable & stronger during shipment/storage and then application. I'll post more when I've washed it & stryled it myself. I have a humongous headache!
1st pic- Last week when my hair was shorter. 2nd pic- Today with my little Tuckeroonie 3rd pic-Today right before I had them put in 4th pic- After they were put in.
