My mom is coming this weekend and we are going to Barrons to get my headpiece and veil. So here are my questions:
1. What type of veil would you get with my dress and hair style?
2. Where would you put the veil? on top of the bun or on top of my head?
3. I wanted a tiara. Would that look silly? Maybe it could be attached to the veil and I could take it off at the reception. Then I would have the barrette showing.
Sorry for so many questions, I am so confused, HELP ME!
it depends on the style you're going for! btw, LOVE that hairstyle!!!!
does the back of your gown have a lot of detail on the train?
are you having a blusher?
i would skip the tiara, i think it looks gorgeous without it.
i'm doing something similar...i have a fingertip length (i wanted cathedral but it would cover my train which has some detail on it), wearing it near the top of my head but not like in the middle because of the blusher, no tiara
that's jmo...everyone is different!
have fun!!!!! i loved barons!!!!

Re: Going for my veil I NEED HELP!!
I know I don't want a blusher because I can't stand something in my face and my ceremony is outside, so what length would be appropriate?

Sorry I used the quote, I wanted to make sure and answer all the questions. First of all, love the dress and hair! But thats not what your asking. Is it a swoop train or a long one because you can always get cathedral length which would look elegant. For the veil...it really depends on your style. I love it when it comes from the top of the head BUT if your bun is down low in the back and you'd rather have a smooth top, then that something too. As for the tiara, honey, if you want, GO FOR IT! But I'm a firm believer in tiaras, I just am obsessed with them.
Here's the honest truth, when you go, try to wear like a strapless something underneath a button down and try on all different things. Pull your hair back in a pony tail at the length its going to be and see what you like. You'll feel it when you find the look you want. I'm telling you, you'll just know that it completes the entire image that you want....good luck and we DEFINITELY want pics!

i only asked if you will have a blusher because i have one, and i find it i put the comb any lower to the bun (not near the top of my head) it feels really wierd. with no blusher you can go with either the top of the head or bun, both will look great!
length is up to you....depends if you want elegant (long) or more traditional 'bride' look (fingertip)....either way they will measure you and customize it to whatever you decide
good luck!

Re: Going for my veil I NEED HELP!!
Does Barons have a good selection? That's on my list of things to do soon, probably this weekend. I found a nice veil I liked at Bridal Garden in bethpage, along with the headpiece. Are there prices very reasonable??

Re: Going for my veil I NEED HELP!!
I bought my veil at Barron's too--the most important thing you need to decide BEFORE you get there-is how long is your dress--he askes you & takes a tape measure from the middle of the back of your head & measures down--I messed up and said it was much shorter than it actually is--He told me about a special comb--it is much narrower than a standard comb--he charges $15 more-my hair dresser said it is great bc it will not mess up your hair....hope this helps--I found it helpful to look at pictures of brides on photographers websites--to compare the styles-The selection of tiaras & not sure what you call them--bobby pins-with rhinestones/pearls on the end-are fantastic--and you can't beat the prices!

Yes, they have a very good selection and their prices are comparable to other selections.
