Re: going this saturday
I registered yesterday at Bed bath and beyond and Macys. I kept my fh in charge of the scanner. I started at all the fine china stuff then move to pots pans, etc. I made sure I went around the whole store twice before I left. Dress as comfortable as possible, its pretty tiring. At one point, I started to give up cause I was hungry. We got some food then went to Macys. Now im done with registering at the stores, I'll look at the stuff I missed online.

Re: going this saturday
When you go up to the registry dept (in the back of the fine china section), make sure you ask them about the 'secret elevator' -- basically, there's an elevator in the back of the store that just hits the floors that have to do with registry stuff -- basement for housewares, the bedding floor, and the china floor! It's great! You don't have to wait with crowds of people to go from one floor to another. Also, Herald Square will give you a special checklist that tells you the floors you'll find each category on.

this is just how fh and i did it this past weekend. we started with macys and fine china early enough in the day so that it wasnt crowded. we spent a couple hours there, got food, then hit BBB. we spent almost 3 hours there because it's where we registered for the bulk of our every day stuff (i.e. can opener, tea kettle, spatulas.....little stuff)
when we got home i went online and just edited the lists
good luck and have fun!!!!!

I registered at BBB and the lady there was very helpful. They even had a checlist. I'm sure Macy's has a checklist and/or someone to help you.
Good luck! And dont worry- registering is fun!
