Maybe because I am not from NYC but upstate..........I don't really understand........I see alot if not all of you making Menu's for your reception........is this because you don't ask what they will want to eat on the RSVP (like what we would do up here)?? Do they choose what they want right before dinner is served??
Sorry I know this sounds really stupid but I guess I am just trying to understand the Menu card.........but from what I have seen they are beautiful ladies!!!!
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

Re: Going to ask a stupid question....
most of the places on long island give the guests a meat, chicken, fish and veggie dish to choose from. they don't need to decide till they're sitting at the table.

Re: Going to ask a stupid question....
well that might be part of the reason, that we don't ask ahead on the RSVP card......but I plan on doing them b/c 1) they look nice, and 2) if it's loud then they don't have to worry about trying to hear what the waiter is saying!! especially for some of my older relatives who are hard of hearing!

They don't choose before the reception down here... orders are taken at the RH as though you were in a restaurant.

Yes, Normally you dont ask a person in the invation what they want to eat . Each waiter or waitress gives each person the choices and then they pick.. But the music is sometimes loud and you cant here what they are offering so its better to just have a menu on the table ...

no worries....there isn't such a thing as a stupid question on here!! My cousins wedding was last summer in Kingston and we had to choose our entree on the RSVP too. so I definetely think that's just how they do it up there. one less thing you have to do then!!

Re: Going to ask a stupid question....
its not a stupid question at all! i think its VERY common outside of long island that ppl put the dinner choices on the RSVPs!
besides that.....like another poster said, i wanted menus on the table simply because it has to stink having to repeat the food choices like 100X for the waiter.....at least if its on a menu and ppl can read it, they wil know before the waiter gets there what they want and can tell them.
