Whew! After a good amount of searching and rejected bids, we finally got a place. It's not finalized yet but it's in attorney review. If all goes as planned, I'll be in Jersey by June.
Just wanted to say Hi! I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be on this board a lot to get advice on decorating and furniture buying.

Me too!!! Closing tomorrow actually. After being a born and bred NY girl all my life I am doing the Jersey thing too. Got to admit I am a little nervous. I am in the Oakview section of Bloomfield...where is everyone else???

We live in Dunellen. The taxes are about $6k per year. We LOVE living here!
The only thing I can say I don't like is commuting to NYC but hopefully that will change soon.
Where will you be living?

Our future place is in Palisades Park (near the Fort Lee border). I'll be traveling to the city everyday too so hopefully the commute won't be too bad.

I'm a NJ transplant too after being born and raised in LI. I'm in Union County- I like it- it';s def not NY but it's growing on me. Congrats on your new home!

Montclaire has the highest per-capita taxes in the Country
