going to book....

Eastwind on Friday! Yay!!!!!! I went there with my mom today, and it is so beautiful. We asked around at starting pkgs at alot of other places today, and found them to be the least expensive pp if you can believe it! (my wedding will also be on a Tues so that helped ALOT!) They were so nce there. The room is beautiful. Its on the 2nd floor, not the main ballroom b/c it is still a small reception by most standards. They also throw in a room overnight for that night after the wedding. I never thought in a million years that I could have a wedding in a place like that...I thought it would be waaaay too much money. I was thinking about doing a hall and have a caterer come in, but that would have been even more $$ pp than I got at EastWind! Please if anyone has had any experience there or any advice, especially about the contract, please post or FM me. I want to know everything!

Well I did not even ask...they just did it! She was trying to work out details with the catering manger, and she quoted me the wrong price once...she quoted me the wrong mimimum guest # once as well...She said something about it being a special thing for booking in the next few months or something...I believe thats what she said..but you never know. It could have been a sales tatctic to get us to book with them and not somewhere else....but hey...I got a room for the night! I saw the room and even a regular room that they give you..my mom said it was nicer than the hilton in NYC!

Congrats on your booking.. I LOVE EAST WIND'S.. I'm a march '05 bride..

Briget, btw, they threw in a room for us as well. Not sure why they didn't for you. I would call and ask..

i think they might throw it in because we booked at a 'down' time for wedding.. I went in November and they probably wanted money.. Not sure.. But I would definately ask for my room..

Just a traditonal room...but that I could use that for a credit towards a nicer room or bridal suite. But IMO, all I need is a bed I don't need all that fancy stuff...although a jacuzzi would be nice!

I think your right about the 'down time' thing...thats prolly why they did it.

Ohhhhh LOL! Well its a rather small affair..so it will be on the first floor...The Westhampton room and the atrium for the cocktail hour. And being on a tuesday...the Main hall (Southampton) gets preference but that most likley will not be booked so I can have pics taken on that staircase...and on the main floor looing up from the atruim with that chandeleir in the pic too...I wish I could clone myself to take pics...I have so many artistic shots in mind for that place!

Thanks everyone. That place is like a dream for me. Its so stunningly beautiful. The decor there my FH will just love. (he is content to let me plan as has not expressed much interest in any of this yet..but thats ok..as long as he listens to my rambling!) I know he will see these chairs there and want pics in them like a king on a throne!
