Going to book on Friday!!!

Okay so on Friday FH and I will be going to East Wind to book for July 1st since June 24 was not available
so i have 2 questions... what are some things that i should look for in this contract? I know that I should get everything written down that I want but is there any thing else specifically I should look for?

The other thing is, now I am worried about my hair. I know it may sound silly but my hair is temperamental! Im hoping that a weeks difference (june 24 compared to July 1st) won't make much of a difference, but im scared lol I originally wanted a fall wedding but it just isn't possbile considering both of our careers.
So any advice from you ladies would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm not sure about the payment plan they have, but since you are booking so far in advance, I would ask them to be flexible with the payment schedule.

Our RH said they needed the initial deposit at signing and then expected the next payment 60 days after. We told them that since we are bookinh way more than a year in advance, we thought the next payment should have be given that close. So they actually extended it to a good 7 months after the initial deposit (March) and then our third payment isn't due until December 2010. It's great because we don't have to worry so much about scrambling for money to pay the RH.

Also, if you are getting a package deal, and there are things you maybe don't want to have included, as if you can put the $$ towards other things,

For example, if you wedding package includes a cake but you already have your heart set on an outside vendor, ask them if you could maybe get a chocolate fountain instead, or maybe upgrade extend the CH or upgrade an entree choice.

when we were there on Sat he mentioned something about second payment being 8 months later or 8 months before the wedding? i dont remember which one, but i will be sure to find out.

The biggest thing I can think of from when we booked our RH was that you make sure they write down the correct number of people you have to GUARENTEE!!! When I sat with the girl the first time, we wrote that we would gaurentee 120 people... and then when we came to book, she asked us in casual conversation how many people do we think would be there, and I said 150... and that is what she wrote on the contract. But we agreed to 120 GUARENTEED. She realized and we had to cross it out on the contract and then change it to 120! You def dont want to guarentee more people then you know are going to show up. I would find out what is the least amount you can guarentee... and go with that.... and then if more come, then great.... but at least you wont have to worry about finding extra people last minute if you cant make the minimum.
