We did the same thing.... My church had a lot of dates in 2008 available. Just know what time you guys are looking for and that there will be enough time between your ceremony and ch.
Otherwise out appointment was prettyy stress free.

I was sooooo nervous before meeting with the church, but it was no big deal!
We didn't book the hall first, but we knew the dates the halls had available. We told them what dates we preferred and they let us know if it was open. No big deal! Just don't tell them you booked the hall. We mentioned that we had looked, but didn't book anything. The deacon said, 'oh that's good!' I'm sure he didn't want to have to try to change our date!

just hope they let you have july 4. my parish does not do weddings on holidays, but my sister n law's parish did.

Dont be nervous. We booked the hall before the church too and we were nervous too but our date was open with our choice of time and we booked it almost a year after we booked our hall

wow this is too funny, we're going to church tomorrow too to meet with the priest for the first time- I spoke with them last week and they have our date open with a time that works great......but I don't intend to tell them that we already booked our hall in August!!! They'll be thinking- why did you wait so long?
I'm a little nervous too since I'm lutheran and he's catholic (we're getting married in a catholic church, I hope I don't feel like an 'outsider!!'). I'll be praying in church tomorrow at 7!! Hope all goes well for you too!!!

don't be nervous...they might not even ask you if you did the hall yet and if they do it probably wont be a big deal...when we went he asked us stuff about ourselves how long we've been together ect.. then he gave us the info for pre-cana congratulated us and sent us on our happy way! good luck!!
