going to invitations and beyond today

going to invitations and beyond today

going to see if It's feasible to DIY my invites. The invites we chose are over our budget and FH just told me to hold off on any deposits for the next few weeks bc he's buying me a car...so now that i don't feel that pressure to pay for half of the invites right away I'm going to do my research and see just how much i could save by DIY-ing my pocketfolds. we shall see.

anyone bought from them? I'm gonna post this on 07 boards for feedback too

I didn't buy from them but I think an 07 bride 'preshusmurf' owns it!

I've heard nothing but great things about her family's store!

you have plenty of time 2 either buy invitations or diy....i think you should really take a month and shop around & you can find a beautiful invitation in your budget (remember people will throw them away anyway) or decide to diy.

what type of invites were you looking 2 get, & how many guests are you having?

Have you tried going to the paper store on 18th street? If you want to DIY they have ALOT of choices.

Have you checked online?? Sometimes you can find someone who is selling them for sooo much cheaper just by putting in the skew number in :)

pocketfolds in mocha and ivory (or ecru)

the invites we almost ordered are these
but in brown...but this is the thing.

I was looking to spend $700 for invites, STD's AND postage for both...the invitations alone are $790ish. FH doesn't seem to care that we are blowing 'the budget' but I'm a little worried that everything so far has been over budget. supposedly his father has alot of money saved that he is planning on giving us as a wedding gift and he told FH 'just tell me when you want it...before or after the wedding' but we don't dare ask for it in advance...so I'm trying to be safe with $$ for now. worst case scenario we'll buy the invites i posted...FH is fine with that...but I'm thinking if I can save some $$ that would be great and also maybe DIY-ing will give me an outlet and keep me busy so I can stop talking to him about the wedding so much

If you are looking to do the invites yourself you can get the pocket folds for $1 each from Cards & Pockets the quality of the samples I received were very good, especially the metallics $1.50.

But any pocketfold that you order will be extremely expensive if you have them done professionally.

About the $$, I wouldn't depend on it just in case, because sometimes you just never know. You dont want to spend a ton of $$ thinking that you are getting a large chunk back to turn around and be disappointed in the end.

i know...he paid for FSIL's entire wedding and then also gave her like 10k or more as a gift...but I'm not his daughter so i dunno what to expect...besides i wouldn't wanna use that on the wedding anyway...we'll pay what we can afford for this wedding and anything that comes to us afterwards is a blessing...we'll use that to fix our home or start a family.
