going to JT, and FH today!!!

ok so we have an appt to try and book either the fox hollow or jericho terrace. is any better than the other?? i hope they give me reasonable quotes since i am booking in 4 monhs notice, and in December also. TIA

Did you call and ask if they had your date available because i booked my Sept wedding with JT in jan of 2006 and they were already booked up to 2009 and i had to pick a different date then the one i originally wanted.

yea they actually had the date available and i couldnt believe it!! so did fox hollow, so we are gonna check both of them out. maybe its the time of year, but i just hope we find a place

They were both on our list but we ended up going with Chateau Briand (same owners as Fox Hollow).

They have different vibes - I also think it depends on which rooms you would be offered. I liked both rooms at Fox Hollow, but wasn't fond of the setup of the Winter Garden Pavilion for the reception because the dancefloor is on one end (it's VERY pretty though). For JT, the room they wanted to give us was the Oak Room (their smallest room on the ground floor) and it was very nice, but we felt it would be too small for the number of guests we were expecting.

So, go check them out. You really can't go wrong with either one. And with booking 4 months in advance, I think you can get a way better deal than I was offered - you should definitely be able to get it for less than $100 per person including tax and tip.

thanks for the tip!! yea im trying to get less than $100, its short notice, and in december. i hope i like one of them, otherwise i got to call and see other places.

You should definitely be able to get less than $100pp with such short notice. If they are not booked for four months from now, they need you more than you need them. Don't be afraid to tell them that the price is too high considering you only have FOUR months to pay it. I bet they will come down on whatever price they give you. What day of the week are you looking for?

you are right about that, im gonna try and play hard ball with them. they will have a tough time to fill that date. we are looking for dec 8th. which is a sat. those 2 places have it open. so thats why we are going today. im praying that i get one of them!!! wish me luck!!

This is not related, but 12/8/07 is my parent's 28th wedding anniversary!!!

i've been to weddings at both places-- both places do a great job.

my taste, personally, is more towards fox hollow than JT but both are nice and it's really personal preference.

i really liked the food at FH.

the scotto's do a great job.
